A soft hand is when you have an Ace counting 1 and some other card, but not a blackjack (blackjack is combination of Ace and ten). Let’s take an example. The same is when you have an Ace, 10 and 8, it’s better to stop, as 19 is also a good result and the odds to take two are astronomically low.

A hard hand is when you have Ace counting 11 and some other card, like 8, for example. In this case there is also no necessity in getting the third card when you have 19, and we recommend you even to double down the bet in this case, as you have good chances to win really. It is a difficult question when you have 16, as somebody says to hit and somebody – to stand. So we recommend you to stop as the risks of exceeding are great.

Now you know all about two types of hands, and you know how to behave in this or that case. But there is one more tip and we want to share it with you. It is called “Never split your Ten’s”. You know that it is allowed in blackjack at US online casinos to split the cards of the same value. So if you have two cards worth of Five, then you can split them, place one more additional bet and play them separately. But let’s see what to do if you have two Ten cards. In this case the total value is 20, what is really close to 21. Certainly, you can split them and hope to get an Ace, but it can hardly happen. When you split two Ten cards, there is a risk either to bust by getting three cards or to get the total value which would be less than a dealer’s one.

Fro example, you can get 10 and 8 and a dealer may have 19 or 20. Or you may get 10, 7 and 6, as an example, and in this cae you will definitely lose the game, as you bust. Neither of the results are suitable, we think and that’s why we recommend you to stop and not to split this pair.
