In blackjack you have three main possible options which are hit, stand and double, and before making the decision it’s necessary to try predicting the possible outcome. You may know that in blackjack there are two types of hands, soft and hard ones. Soft hand means that one of two cards is an Ace, which can be either one or eleven. And hard hand is a combination of cards without an Ace. It influences the strategy of playing blackjack greatly.

Soft hand strategy:

1. You should stand if your hand is A8 or A9 regardless of the cards of a dealer.
2. You should always double, when you have A4 or A5 and a dealer’s up card is 4-6. In any other case, you’d better hit.
3. If your hand is A2 and A3, and a dealer’s up card is 5, 6, then you should double and hit in any other case.
4. When you have A6, double, if a dealer’s card is 3-6 and hit in any other case.
5. If your hand is A7, double if a dealer’s card is 3-6, stand if it is 2, 7 or 8 and hit in any other case.

Hard hand strategy:

1. If your total is 17-20, stand in any case.
2. If your hand is 13-16, stand if a dealer’s up card is 2-6, and hit in any other case.
3. If it is 12, then stand if a dealer’s card is 4-6, and hit in any other case.
4. With 11 as a total, always double, when a dealer’s card is 2-10, and hit, if it is an Ace.
5. With 10 as a total, you’d better double, if a dealer’s card is 2-9, and hit in any other case.
6. If your hand is worth of 9 points, then double in case if a dealer’s up card is 3-6, and hit if it is 2, 7-A.
7. With 8 as a total, always hit.

And you also know that in blackjack played at online casinos you may split a pair. But it is not profitable to do any time you have it. Now we tell you, when you should split pairs, and when not:

1. You should always split Aces and 8s.
2. You should never split 5s and 10s. When you have two 5 cards, then you’d better double, if a dealer’s up card is 2-9 and hit if it is Ten or Ace. As for two tens, then always stand.
3. If you have 2s, 3s and 7s, then you should split them, if a dealer’s up card is 2-7 and hit in any other case.
4. If you have pair of 4, the split them only if a dealer has 5 or 6 and hit in the rest of cases.
5. With a pair of six, split them, if a dealer’s up card is 2-6, and hit in any other case.
6. With a pair of 9, split them, if a dealer’s up card is 2-6 and 8, 9. Stand in any other case.
